Employee Giving at UCHealth
Extraordinary generosity is what helps us provide extraordinary care.
UCHealth is a not-for-profit health care system that depends on donations from individuals, families, corporations, and foundations to ensure its continued excellence in patient care, education for health care professionals, and research.
How many foundations make up the UCHealth philanthropic team?
There are five foundations that work together for a shared purpose:
· Longs Peak Hospital Foundation
· Memorial Hospital Foundation
· Northern Colorado Foundation
· University Hospital Foundation
· Yampa Valley Medical Center Foundation
Why do the UCHealth foundations need charitable support?
The UCHealth foundations receive, administer, and distribute charitable funds for hospital and community health initiatives. Support of the foundations helps make the communities we serve the healthiest places to live, work and raise a family. Private charitable support, from the community and employee donors alike, helps ensure that UCHealth has the resources to provide world-class healthcare to every patient who comes in our doors. Many of the special programs we offer to patients and families are supported through donations. In addition, donations provide employee scholarships, educational funds, Employee Hardship Relief and more for UCHealth employees. Private support is also used to award grants to UCHealth programs that target prevention, health promotion, wellness, disease management, and education and provide leadership to solve our communities’ most pressing health issues.
How many employees currently give to support our foundations’ efforts?
Approximately 2,000 employees make charitable contributions to our foundations annually.
How long does it take to process my donation?
Please make your payroll deduction by Wednesday at 11:59pm (MST) of the off-cycle payroll week for it to be effective on your next paycheck. You will receive a confirmation of your donation to your UCHealth email address. All monetary gifts are tax-deductible to the limits of the law. Your W-2 will contain your total annual amount of your contributions made through payroll deductions and may be printed for your income tax preparations. For any questions, please contact your local foundation office.
How will I know my gift was processed?
You will receive a confirmation of your donation to your UCHealth email address for your donation. All monetary gifts are tax-deductible to the limits of the law. Please note that PTO is considered taxable income. Your W-2 from Lawson will have the total annual amount of your contributions made through payroll and may be printed for your income tax preparations. For questions please contact your local foundation office.
How do I donate PTO?
You can donate your paid time off (PTO). Please enter your donation in full hour increments with a minimum donation of 4 hours. You are required to maintain a balance of 40 PTO hours after you have made your donation. PTO hours are converted into cash and payroll taxes are withdrawn and the balance will be your donation. PTO hours will be deducted from your banked hours on the next available payday.
What if I want to change the fund I am supporting?
Your gift designations may be changed at any time. It may take approximately three weeks for the change to be made with the payroll department depending on when you make the change. It is contingent upon the payroll cycle. If you are encountering any difficulties, please contact your local foundation, we'd be happy to assist you!
What if I want to cancel my recurring donation?
You are able to cancel your donation at any time through this giving platform, or you may contact the foundation in your region for assistance.
I am a current donor through automatic payroll deductions. Do I need to re-initiate my gift?
No. Each employee donor’s intentions have been captured in this giving platform. You can check out your giving history on your profile page. You may be surprised. Recurring gifts accumulate and add up over time.
Is this system secure?
Yes. This giving platform was heavily vetted by our IT Department and Foundation staff. This system was selected, in part, because it is more secure than the previous giving tool available to employees through SharePoint.
I do not want my name listed as a donor.
That’s fine. When you make your donation, you have the option of remaining anonymous. If you missed that message, you may contact the foundation in your region.
